Explosion prevention

Slovak republic as a member of European Union implemented into Slovakian law the European Directive 1999/92 ES (ATEX 137) in the form of the Decree of Ministry of Home Affairs SR No. 393/2006, on minimum requirements for assurance of safe working and health conditions.

According to Decree No. 393/2006, on minimum requirements for assurance of safe working and health conditions, the employee is obliged to realize preventive and safety steps as weexplosive atmospherell as organizational steps, which avoid the generation of potentially explosive atmosphere, or, if this is not possible, to aviod the initiation of explosive atmosphere and reduce the impacts of explosion in such a way that the assurance of safe working and health conditions are kept.

For the safety of employers, the employee is obliged to elaborate an explosion protection document for areas in with explosion danger is possible, and to classify areas with explosion danger.

Classification of areas with explosion danger follows the norm STN EN 60079–10 Electrical apparatus for explosive gas atmospheres. Part 10: Classification of hazardous areas.
