Prevention of major industrial accidents

Requirements of European Directive 96/82/ES (SEVESO II) are implmented into Slovak legislation in the form of Act of the National Council of the Slovak Republic No. 261/2002 on the prevention of major industrial accidents and on amending and supplementing certain laws.

There are two executive decrees related to Act 261/2002, the Decree of the Ministry of Environment of the Slovak republic 489/2002 which executes some provisions of the act on the prevention of major industrial accidents and on amending and supplementing some laws, and the Decree of the Ministry of Environment of the Slovak republic 490/2002 on the safety report and the emergency plan.
